About the role

  • In the Direct Sales role, one will qualify and engage prospects for Generational Equity's evaluation, M&A, consulting and wealth management services at an acceptable minimum performance standard:

  • Participate in person in periodic (usually one to three) conferences per month as assigned, function both as support for the M&A Advisor as an informational resource for the attending business owners. 
  • Preliminarily assess and qualify prospects to determine their motivation and suitability for Generational Equity’s services and, where appropriate, schedule follow-up meetings for more in-depth reviews with the prospects.
  • Visit prospective Client’s businesses; Conduct a qualifying interview with the objective of securing the prospect as a Generational Equity client, if qualified.
  • Acquire relevant information from the Client, including any monies due, and immediately forward to Generational Equity’s headquarters.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and legibility of all necessary and required documents.
  • Conduct telephone and email follow-up communication with prospective and existing prospects and Clients, as necessary. 
  • Follow established reporting and expense guidelines, submit required expense reports on a timely basis and adheres to written guidelines.
  • Attend regularly scheduled corporate meetings and training sessions as they occur.
  • When requested, assist in field training of new and existing Managing Directors.
  • Remain current, on a consistent basis, with Generational Equity’s operating policies, procedures and philosophies, as well as external influences on the M&A industry.
  • Meet minimum quotas for sales, appointments, averages, etc. as outlined by any current compensation plan offered by Generational Equity.

Candidates must have:

  • significant sales experience and an exact understanding of the operation and financial characteristics of privately held businesses.
  • extensive successful intermediary experience with privately held companies
  • track record of successfully transacting deals in the middle market
