DALLAS – Jan. 16, 2008 – Generational Equity, an advisor to privately held and family-owned businesses for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives, announced the sale of its client European Design, a manufacturer of dental equipment and furniture, based in Glasgow, Ky., to Midmark Corporation, a Versaillies, Ohio-based provider of examination and treatment equipment for medical, dental and veterinary markets. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Midmark, a privately-owned company of 1,000 employees, will benefit from adding European Design, the fourth-largest dental cabinetry manufacturer known for its high-quality, wood craftsmanship, to its cache of products.

“European Design’s quality products and strong business made them an attractive gain for Midmark,” said Douglas Smith, Generational Equity managing director in the transaction.  “European Design met its terms as sellers, and Midmark made a high-growth potential strategic acquisition. It really is a win-win situation for all parties involved.”

The deal closed six months after European Design entered the market.
